That Campbell and Horton for Wideman and a first deal worked out for the Bruins. 'Sides that, pretty tough to beat.

I think what you're saying about Connolly is true, however Hayes should be in the ahl or traded. Too many good pieces to play next year. No room for the plug

If we want the Bruins to start moving in the right direction, our first and most obvious step should be to show Sweeney the door. Won't happen, but it is the only way to get them back on track. As it currently stands, the Bruins roster is too old, slow and mediocre to compete for a Cup. There are bright spots of course, I'm not advocating dumping the entire roster. Bergy needs to retire in Black and Gold for instance. I just think that if we can get a forward-thinking GM in place before the draft, we might have a chance.

The decisions Sweeney made in the off-season seemed like he was trying to be the only GM in the league that was trying to make his team bigger and tougher instead of faster and more talented. The big bad Bruins are a thing of the past. A dinosaur that needs to be allowed to become extinct. We need more Pastrnaks and fewer Hayes. More Krugs and fewer McQuaids. God, PLEASE at least one fewer McQuaids.

The current Bruins traded away/free agency team looks like:

Lucic-Seguin-Kessel
Smith-Thornton-Wheeler
Jagr- -Iginla

Boychuk-Hamilton

That is all I could come up with from the top of my head, I am sure others will contribute to finishing this team.

You left out a significant part of that deal. Florida took back Savard's cap hit for 2 years which also solved a waiver issue for Boston when having to submit their 23 man roster the night before the season started. The cost to have Florida do so was down grading from Smith to Hayes.

The Bruins roster had 10 players who all play significant roles this year that have 3 seasons or less of NHL experience! How does that make them old?

Connelly 23 to start the season; 139 games of NHL experience going into this season. Hayes 25, 168 games. Pastrnak 19, 46 games. Spooner 23, 56 games. Krug 24, 160 games, C. Miller 22, 0 games. Trotman 25, 29 games. Morrow 22, 15 games. Vatrano 21, 0 games. Ferraro 24, 7 games. Accairi 23, 0 games.

That’s 1/2 a roster of kids & although McQuaid & K. Miller were 28 & 27 when the season started both arrived in the NHL late McQuiad having 283 & Miller 88 games of NHL experience entering this season.

That’s a ton of youth & all have played significant games & roles for the Bruin’s this year. Not all teams take the Edm, Buf, Arz rebuild model. Chara, Seidenberg, Krejci Bergeron, Marchand & Rask are there to lead, teach & help lay the foundation for these young players & the future players coming that were stock piled last season & will be acquired with this seasons 2 1st rounders.
BINGO!

Canes might HAVE to spend almost $20 million this offseason.... Could be an addition for the fourth line.

Sweeney's main concern last offseason seemed to be restocking the cupboards, which he did a damn fine job of in just one draft and through a couple trades. That was his way of improving the club for the future. The Rinaldo trade was questionable. And Hayes was a downgrade from Reilly, which anyone with a brain could see but was done for a reason. This was supposed to be a transition year and it was one, I don't exactly know what you expect him to do considering the disaster Chiarelli left behind.

Iggy would have given this franchise a reason to exist. Without him, only fountain and didthedougie are worth talking about.
